Ryan: $512,000 in Illinois FIRST Projects for Northwest Illinois

SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan announced today that he is releasing $492,000 in Illinois FIRST funding for projects in Northwest Illinois, including $200,000 to the City of Savanna for improvements to the intersection at the junction of Routes 64 and 84.

This Illinois FIRST project was initiated by State Rep. Ronald Lawfer, R-Stockton.

Other Illinois FIRST grants announced by Ryan:

  • $100,000 to the Village of Dakota to upgrade its wastewater treatment facility. The village is contributing $100,000.
    This project was initiated by State Sen. Todd Sieben, R-Geneseo.

  • $54,000 to the City of Geneseo to increase parking spaces and install more lighting at its city park. The city is contributing $54,000.
    This project was initiated by Sieben.

  • $25,000 to Savanna School District 300 to purchase and install new media center furniture and equipment at the new Chestnut Park School.
    This project was initiated by Sieben.

  • $25,000 to the Milledgeville Fire Protection District to purchase new personal fire and safety equipment and to make improvements to its new facility.
    This project was initiated by Sieben.

  • $25,000 to the Sterling Rock Falls Day Care for the initial site work for its new facility.
    This project was initiated by Lawfer.

  • $25,000 to the Sacre Coeur Heartland Centre to purchase a heating/air conditioning system boiler, an exterior sign, two computer systems and desks and to make plumbing and electrical improvements, roof repairs and exterior and interior renovations.
    This project was initiated by State Sen. Denny Jacobs, D-East Moline.

  • $20,000 to the Village of Hampton Fire Rescue Department to purchase fire apparatus. The department is contributing $90,000.
    This project was initiated by State Rep. Mike Boland, D-East Moline.

  • $15,000 to Pine Creek Township to purchase the materials to repair its town hall. The township is contributing $17,880.
    This project was initiated by Sieben.

  • $13,000 to the Bertolet Memorial Library District to blacktop the gravel parking lot at the library.
    This project was initiated by Sieben.

  • $10,000 to the Manlius Fire Protection District to purchase a thermal imaging camera.
    This project was initiated by Sieben.
