In the linked photo labeled 1, Governor Quinn is shown addressing the American Chamber of Commerce for Brazil, which assists U.S. companies doing business in other countries. Governor Quinn met with leaders of the business community in the state of Pernambuco to talk about how Illinois companies can provide engineering services to support the region's growth, greater mutual tourism, and attracting students from Pernambuco to Illinois to help create a skilled Brazilian workforce.
In the photos labeled 2 and 3, Governor Quinn joined Eduardo Campos, Governor of the Brazilian State of Pernambuco, to sign a new sister river agreement between Illinois and Pernambuco, Brazil. Under the agreement, the regions will work together to share policies and innovative ideas to maintain and conserve the Illinois and Capibaribe Rivers, as well as the promotion of economic development for these two vital waterways through sustainable commercial and navigational uses and eco-friendly tourism and recreation activities.
