Liquor Control Commission June Underage Compliance Report

SPRINGFIELD – In June the Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) conducted compliance checks around the state and visited 364 businesses licensed to sell liquor.  They cited 64 for violations of liquor control laws.  Eighty-two percent of the licensees visited complied with Illinois liquor laws and refused to serve underage customers.

This report is a result of ongoing undercover and cooperative law enforcement operations conducted by Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) agents and local law enforcement officials and volunteers from high schools and colleges.  The teams randomly visit liquor stores, restaurants and bars in communities around the state to check for ongoing compliance with state laws mandating that no liquor is sold to minors under the age of 21. ILCC agents also work with local and state law enforcement agents to focus on communities with a high incidence of underage liquor sales.

Algonquin – June 27, the ILCC and the Secretary of State Police conducted underage alcohol checks in Algonquin in McHenry County. Of the 15 licensee’s checked, none sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants.

Alsip – June 19, the ILCC and Secretary of State Police Department conducted underage alcohol checks in Alsip. Of the 15 licensees checked, two sold alcohol to LCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• Las Fuentes Restaurant 11501 S. Pulaski Rd. Alsip, IL 60803
• Pappas Restaurant 12219 S. Pulaski Rd. Alsip, IL 60803


DuPage County – June 25, 2014 ILCC and the West Chicago Police Department conducted Underage Liquor Compliance checks. Of the 11 establishments checked, three sold alcohol to the underage participants. The licensees were:

• Mr. A’s La Villita Liquor 906 E. Roosevelt- West Chicago
• Mid City Cocktail & Supper Club-124 Main St-West Chicago
• Arbor Liquors -110 Arbor Ave-West Chicago

Elgin – June 12, 2014 the ILCC and the Elgin Police Department conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Elgin. Of the 14 licensees checked, six sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• Boni Liquors, 136 Tyler Creek
• Carmina’s Restaurant, 1055 N Randall
• Neighborhood Package liquors, 805 Walnut
• Northwest Liquors, 995 N McLean
• Price Rite Liquors, 1055 Liberty
• Rookie’s, 2456 Bushwood Dr.

Kane County – June 26, the ILCC and the Secretary of State Police conducted underage compliance checks in Kane County. Of the 14 licensees checked, two sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• Liquor Outlet, 398 Randall Rd., South Elgin
• RKR Extra Value Liquors, 351 N. McLean Blvd., South Elgin

Kankakee County – June 12, the ILCC and the Secretary of State Police conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Kankakee County. Of the 14 licensees checked, three sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• Sammy’s of Momence, 119 W. Washington, Momence
• Drunken Monkey, 101 S. Main, Grant Park
• Herscher Restaurant & Pub, 171 S. Main, Herscher


LaGrange – June 19, the ILCC and the LaGrange Police Department conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in La Grange, Cook County. Of the 18 licensees checked, three sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• Knead Marketplace, Inc., 1 South La Grange Rd., La Grange, Cook
• Palmer Ventures, Inc. 56 South La Grange Rd., La Grange, Cook
• Q Restaurant Group, LLC., 1 South La Grange Rd., La Grange, Cook


Lake County – June 25, the ILCC and the Illinois State Police District 2 conducted underage alcohol checks in Wadsworth and Winthrop Harbor within Lake County. Of the 14 licensees checked, one sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. That licensee was:

• Clark Gas Station, 847 Sheridan Rd Winthrop Harbor, 60096

         
Lockport – Wednesday, June 25, an Underage Compliance Detail was conducted in Lockport along with the Lockport Police Department.  There were 19 targets checked, of which three retailers sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• Stefanelli’s Imports, 1230 E 9th St
• Rocco’s, 16716 W 159th St
• The Outpost Pub & Grill, 14929 S Archer

Macoupin County – June 13, the ILCC and the Secretary of Police conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Macoupin County. Of the 18 licensees checked, three sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• Boente Food Mart, 830 E 1st, Carlinville
• K & K House of Booze, 280 E. Jackson, Virden
• Showtime Lanes, 1515 Springfield, Virden

Madison County – June 30, 2014 the ILCC and the Illinois State Police conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Madison County. Of the 10 licensees checked, two sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• Our Cliffside Inn, 4922 Clifton Terrace Rd., Godfrey
• Beer Barrel Pub, 7205 Montclaire, Godfrey

Montgomery County – June 11, the ILCC and the Illinois State Police District 18 conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Montgomery County. Of the 19 licensees checked, four sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• JR’s Mini Mart, 610 Washington, Donnellson
• West End Food Mart, Rte. # 48W, Raymond
• Hunter Green Inn & Pub, 319 E Broad, Raymond
• Illini Corner Sports Bar, 101 W. State, Nokomis

Marshall County – June 25, 2014 the ILLC and the Illinois Secretary of State Police conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Marshall County. Of the 16 licensees checked, three sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• River Valley Bowl, 1106 Western Ave., Henry
• Grandma’s Bar & Grill, 420 E Park Row Street, Henry
• Lacon Shell Fast N Fresh, 1407 Fifth Street, Lacon


Rockford – June 24, the ILCC and the Rockford Police Department conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Rockford.  Of the 107 licensees checked, 24 sold alcohol to ILCC underage volunteers.  They are:

Vermillion County – June 25, the ILCC and the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Vermilion County. Of the 17 licensees checked, three sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• Robin’s, 101 E 5th, Tilton
• Tilton County Market, 1628 Georgetown Rd., Tilton
• Pilot Travel Center, 503 N Oakwood, Oakwood

Will County – June 13, the ILCC and the Illinois State Police District 5 investigations conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Will County. Of the 23 licensees checked, none sold alcohol to ILLC underage participants.
