Liquor Control Commission June Underage Compliance Report

SPRINGFIELD – In June the Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) conducted compliance checks around the state and visited 364 businesses licensed to sell liquor.  They cited 64 for violations of liquor control laws.  Eighty-two percent of the licensees visited complied with Illinois liquor laws and refused to serve underage customers.

This report is a result of ongoing undercover and cooperative law enforcement operations conducted by Illinois Liquor Control Commission (ILCC) agents and local law enforcement officials and volunteers from high schools and colleges.  The teams randomly visit liquor stores, restaurants and bars in communities around the state to check for ongoing compliance with state laws mandating that no liquor is sold to minors under the age of 21. ILCC agents also work with local and state law enforcement agents to focus on communities with a high incidence of underage liquor sales.

Algonquin – June 27, the ILCC and the Secretary of State Police conducted underage alcohol checks in Algonquin in McHenry County. Of the 15 licensee’s checked, none sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants.

Alsip – June 19, the ILCC and Secretary of State Police Department conducted underage alcohol checks in Alsip. Of the 15 licensees checked, two sold alcohol to LCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

DuPage County – June 25, 2014 ILCC and the West Chicago Police Department conducted Underage Liquor Compliance checks. Of the 11 establishments checked, three sold alcohol to the underage participants. The licensees were:

• Mr. A’s La Villita Liquor 906 E. Roosevelt- West Chicago
• Mid City Cocktail & Supper Club-124 Main St-West Chicago
• Arbor Liquors -110 Arbor Ave-West Chicago

Elgin – June 12, 2014 the ILCC and the Elgin Police Department conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Elgin. Of the 14 licensees checked, six sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• Boni Liquors, 136 Tyler Creek
• Carmina’s Restaurant, 1055 N Randall
• Neighborhood Package liquors, 805 Walnut
• Northwest Liquors, 995 N McLean
• Price Rite Liquors, 1055 Liberty

Kane County – June 26, the ILCC and the Secretary of State Police conducted underage compliance checks in Kane County. Of the 14 licensees checked, two sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• RKR Extra Value Liquors, 351 N. McLean Blvd., South Elgin

Kankakee County – June 12, the ILCC and the Secretary of State Police conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Kankakee County. Of the 14 licensees checked, three sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

LaGrange – June 19, the ILCC and the LaGrange Police Department conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in La Grange, Cook County. Of the 18 licensees checked, three sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

Lake County – June 25, the ILCC and the Illinois State Police District 2 conducted underage alcohol checks in Wadsworth and Winthrop Harbor within Lake County. Of the 14 licensees checked, one sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. That licensee was:

Lockport – Wednesday, June 25, an Underage Compliance Detail was conducted in Lockport along with the Lockport Police Department.  There were 19 targets checked, of which three retailers sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

• The Outpost Pub & Grill, 14929 S Archer

Macoupin County – June 13, the ILCC and the Secretary of Police conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Macoupin County. Of the 18 licensees checked, three sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

Madison County – June 30, 2014 the ILCC and the Illinois State Police conducted alcohol underage compliance checks in Madison County. Of the 10 licensees checked, two sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

Vermillion County – June 25, the ILCC and the Vermilion County Sheriff’s Department conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Vermilion County. Of the 17 licensees checked, three sold alcohol to ILCC underage participants. Those licensees were:

Will County – June 13, the ILCC and the Illinois State Police District 5 investigations conducted underage alcohol compliance checks in Will County. Of the 23 licensees checked, none sold alcohol to ILLC underage participants.
