Eisenmann to Construct New Facility in DeKalb

SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan today announced that Eisenmann Corporation intends to build a new paint and logistics facility in DeKalb creating 79 new jobs. The new plant, which will operate under the name of Encoat Services, Incorporated, will be a direct supplier to the local Caterpillar Agricultural Products plant.

"I am very pleased that Eisenmann has elected to broaden its presence in Illinois with this new facility in DeKalb," said Governor Ryan. "This project is a prime example of how cooperation among state agencies, local economic development officials and corporate partners helps create jobs."

Eisenmann is investing over $20 million in the project and is also benefiting from a number of programs administered by the Department of Commerce and Community Affairs (DCCA). The company applied for a Large Business Grant and funding through the Industrial Training Program, and will also be eligible for EDGE tax credits. The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is also providing assistance through its Economic Development Program.

"Under the leadership of Governor Ryan, we have the tools to make sure an expanding company continues to grow right here in Illinois," said DCCA Director Pam McDonough. "By keeping pace with the infrastructure and workforce needs of our business community, Illinois is able to support its companies as they work to stay on the cutting-edge of their individual industries."

Eisenmann is one of the world's leading suppliers for surface finishing systems, material flow automation, environmental technology, and ceramics firing technology. The company was founded in 1951 and employs 2,300 people worldwide. Eisenmann's U.S. headquarters are in Crystal Lake and its international headquarters are located in Boeblingen, Germany.

"The Eisenmann organization is very proud to be a part of the Caterpillar Agricultural Products Challenger Program," said Eisenmann International's CFO Kuno Gerst. "A big thanks to everyone at the city, county and state level for all their help in making this new facility a reality."

"I'm very pleased with Eisenmann's decision to bring this facility to DeKalb and the high paying jobs that come with it," said Mayor Bessie Chronopoulos. "They are exactly the kind of jobs that keep families in a community."
