Illinois OSHA Recognizes Lafayette Steel & Aluminum Sales LLC with SHARP Status

Press Release - Monday, April 06, 2015

The Illinois Department of Labor – Illinois OSHA is pleased to announce the newest worksite to be recognized for their achievements in occupational safety and health: Lafayette Steel & Aluminum Sales LLC – Franklin Park, Illinois.

The Illinois On-site Consultation Program's Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) recognizes small business employers who operate an exemplary injury and illness prevention program. Acceptance of a worksite into SHARP is an achievement of status that distinguishes a business among peers as a model for worksite safety and health. Upon receiving SHARP recognition, OSHA exempts your worksite from OSHA programmed inspections during the period that your SHARP certification is valid.

“It is with great enthusiasm that we congratulate Lafayette Steel and & Aluminum for their commitment to workplace safety,” commented Illinois OSHA Director, Ben Noven. “We hope that other businesses follow in their footsteps and implement similar programs to ensure employees safety and health.”

Lafayette Steel & Aluminum Sales LLC has 17 employees who work with management to ensure their safety and health is the highest priority while performing their job duties. For nearly 30 years, they have been providing steel and aluminum product solutions and services in the Midwest.

“We are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment, with the belief that every incident is preventable. It is a priority for those at all levels here at Lafayette Steel & Aluminum Sales,” said Bill Rothrock, Vice President.  “We are honored to accept this award. It will serve as a constant reminder that employee safety and health is central to our company’s values and culture.”
