Gov. Ryan Lauds Retiring Supreme Court Justice Benjamin K. Miller

SPRINGFIELD -- Gov. George H. Ryan today praised Illinois Supreme Court Justice Benjamin K. Miller of Springfield, who plans to retire on Jan. 29.

"He has been a great justice," Gov. Ryan said. "He has served the citizens well as a member of the Fourth Appellate Court and currently the Illinois Supreme Court. I wish him well in all of his future endeavors."

Gov. Ryan noted that while serving as Chief Justice, Miller instituted several programs dealing with such areas as judicial education and domestic violence.
