Ryan: $2 Million in Illinois FIRST Projects for DuPage County

SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan announced today that he is releasing $2.05 million in Illinois FIRST funding for projects in DuPage County, including $2 million to DuPage County to expand the Judicial Office Building on North County Farm Road in Wheaton.

The Illinois Supreme Court determines the number of courtrooms for a Circuit Court district based on the population and case load. The new annex is necessary due to population growth.

This project was initiated by Senate President James "Pate" Philip, R-Wood Dale.

Other Illinois FIRST grants announced by Ryan:

  • $35,000 to the Wheaton Fire Department to purchase and install the Opticom Priority Control Traffic System at intersections with high volumes of traffic congestion.
    This project was initiated by State Rep. Randall M. Hultgren, R-Wheaton.

  • $15,000 to Lisle Township to purchase notebook computers, monitors, printers, warranty upgrades and software.
    This project was initiated by Hultgren.
