Governor announces $437,500 to Nameoki Township
SPRINGFIELD - Governor Rod R. Blagojevich today announced $437,500 in grants to Nameoki Township. These grants will allow for the Arlington Drive resurfacing project and sewer project for Arlington Heights subdivision.
"We want to assist our communities in their efforts to improve their quality of life," said Governor Blagojevich. "These projects helps local residents, commercial users and farmers alike." Arlington Drive is a well-traveled roadway and the repaving project eliminates hazardous driving conditions.
Nameoki Township will use $400,000 to match $436,400 from the Madison County Sanitary Sewer Reserve Fund to connect the Arlington Heights subdivision to the Madison County sewer system. "This is a great project for Madison County," said State Senator Bill Haine. The project was originally sponsored by former Senator Evelyn Bowles.
"We would like to thank the Governor for providing these funds for this important local transportation project," said State Representatives Steve Davis and Thomas Holbrook. Jay Hoffman is the area's current State Representative.
