MCI will invest approximately $20 million in a new call center that will create 500 part-time and 500 full-time jobs for the area.
"This level of private investment and the employment it generates is well worth the state's commitment of $396,000," Ryan said. "I believe the state plays a critical role in forging partnerships with local governments and the private sector by providing a transportation system that can serve the needs of communities to attract new businesses."
The state's contribution to this partnership was made possible by Illinois FIRST which funds the Economic Development Program that targets transportation improvements that help communities retain or attract businesses and associated jobs.
The road improvements include extending Spring Brook Road and upgrading the intersection at McFarland Road and Spring Brook.
