$372,500 in Illinois FIRST Projects for Cook County

Press Release - Monday, April 23, 2001

SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan announced today that he is releasing $372,500 in Illinois FIRST funding for projects in suburban Cook County, including $350,000 to the Village of LaGrange Park to renovate its water tower to solve health and safety issues.

This Illinois FIRST project was initiated by State Rep. William O'Connor, R-Riverside.

Other Illinois FIRST grants announced by Ryan:

  • $12,500 to Chicago Public Schools to complete a technology upgrade at Oriole Park School.
    This project was initiated by State Rep. Michael P. McAuliffe, R-Chicago.

  • $10,000 to the Morton Grove Chamber of Commerce to purchase a computer, a printer, a fax machine and a copy machine.
    This project was initiated by State Sen. Walter W. Dudycz, R-Chicago.
