Ryan Donates Prizes To Big Brother/Big Sister "Bowl For Kids Sake"

SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan today announced that he is donating several items from the Governor's office to the 17th annual "Bowl For Kids Sake" event sponsored by the Springfield Big Brothers & Big Sisters program. The tournament is scheduled for Saturday, February 26 at Spillway Lanes, 1025 Outer Park Drive.

This event brings government and law enforcement together to bowl to raise money for needy children.

"I am happy to help with this event. Big Brothers & Big Sisters is an excellent program with excellent goals," Ryan said. "Ensuring the well-being of the children of Illinois is one of my top priorities, and Cops For Kids will greatly benefit many of our children who are currently in need".

The governor's office is donating the following items, which will be given away as prizes during the event: a bust of Abraham Lincoln, T-shirts, baseball hats, paper weights and "George Ryan" lapel pins.
