Ryan: $578,850 in Illinois FIRST Projects for North Central Illinois

RYAN: $578,850 IN ILLINOIS FIRST PROJECTS
FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS

SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan announced today that he is releasing $578,850 in Illinois FIRST funding for projects in North Central Illinois, including $200,000 to the Bureau County Agricultural Board to construct a new building on the Bureau County Fairgrounds.

The new building will be used for shows during the County Fair, 4-H Fair and other events. It will replace an old building that is too costly to repair and also provide safety and protection to the public and animals.

This project was initiated by State Sen. Carl E. Hawkinson, R-Galesburg.

Other Illinois FIRST grants announced by Ryan:

  • $200,000 to Peoria County to renovate the structures, roads and bridges affiliated with the Springdale Cemetery.
    This project was initiated by State Sen. George P. Shadid, D-Edwards.

  • $161,550 to the Bartonville Fire Department to purchase thermal imaging cameras, defibrillators, turn out gear and an all terrain vehicle.
    This project was initiated by State Rep. Michael K. Smith, D-Canton.

  • $10,000 to the Henry County Fair Association for the total bid cost of building construction.
    This project was initiated by State Rep. Donald L. Moffitt, R-Gilson.

  • $7,300 to the Lewiston Township Fire Protection District to make heating, electrical, lighting and insulation improvements to its station. The district is contributing $14,300.
    This project was initiated by Shadid.
