$190,000 in Illinois FIRST Projects for DuPage County
SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan announced today that he is releasing $190,000 in Illinois FIRST funding for projects in DuPage County, including $100,000 to the Village of Roselle to reconstruct and resurface Central Avenue between Rodenburg Road and Roselle Road. The village will contribute $200,000. This Illinois FIRST project was initiated by State Rep. Carole Pankau, R-Roselle.
Other Illinois FIRST grants announced by Ryan:
- $50,000 to the Village of Roselle
to fund sediment removal at the Heather Green retention pond to return it to a functioning wetland. This project was initiated by Pankau.
- $25,000 to Darien School District 61
to make parking lot improvements. The school district will contribute $50,000. This project was initiated by State Rep. Patricia "Patti" Bellock, R-Hinsdale.
$15,000 to the Woodridge Park District to construct additional parking spaces designed for handicapped and senior parking at its community center. The park district will contribute $36,000. This project was initiated by Bellock.
