Ryans Release 1999 Income Tax Returns

SPRINGFIELD - Governor George H. Ryan and First Lady Lura Lynn Ryan today made public their federal and state income tax returns for 1999.

"I pledged when I announced my candidacy for governor that I would release my tax returns for every year that I am governor and I will keep that pledge," Ryan said.

The Ryans' 1999 returns show they paid $39,532 in state and federal income taxes. The Ryans' adjusted gross income for 1999 was $130,904.

The Ryans paid $33,941 in federal taxes and are owed a refund of $7,244. The couple paid $5,591 in state taxes and is owed a refund of $1,794.
