Reunion Industries Moving to Libertyville

CHICAGO -- Governor George H. Ryan today announced that Reunion Industries, Inc., a diversified manufacturer of metal and plastic products, is relocating its Milwaukee-based T.J. Brooks' cylinder manufacturing facility to Libertyville. The project will result in at least 40 new jobs in Illinois.

"I'd like to express my appreciation to the people of Reunion Industries for choosing Illinois for this project," said Governor Ryan. "As companies work to realign their own operations to remain competitive in today's marketplace, my administration will continue working with these businesses to assist them in any way we can to benefit Illinois workers."

The company is eligible to receive job training assistance through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Community Affairs' (DCCA) Industrial Training Program (ITP), and tax credits through the Economic Development for a Growing Economy (EDGE) program.

"This project exemplifies the competitive advantages that Illinois provides to companies as they look towards the future," said DCCA Director Pam McDonough. "Like many other companies, Reunion Industries found strong support for workforce training through ITP and a fair, performance-based tax credit program through EDGE."

Reunion Industries, Inc. has facilities in 11 states. The Metals Group, through its five manufacturing divisions including T. J. Brooks, designs, manufactures and markets a broad range of metal fabricated and machined industrial parts and products, including seamless steel pressure vessels, fluid power cylinders, industrial cranes and structures for bridges, leaf springs and material handling systems. The Plastics Group manufactures high volume, precision plastics products and thermoset compounds and provides engineered plastics services.

In addition to the relocation of the T.J. Brooks facility, which should be completed in early November, Reunion Industries also plans on moving its Hanna Cylinders facility from Chicago to Libertyville next year. Illinois competed against Indiana and Wisconsin for both projects.
