Ryan: $610,000 in Illinois FIRST Projects for North Central Illinois

SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan announced today that he is releasing $610,000 in Illinois FIRST funding for projects in North Central Illinois, including $450,000 to the City of Pontiac to make road improvements throughout the city. These improvements will improve traffic flow to the new State Police District Headquarters and the new county jail site.

This Illinois FIRST project was initiated by State Rep. Dan Rutherford, R-Chenoa.

Other Illinois FIRST grants announced by Ryan:

  • $100,000 to the City of Bloomington to fund preliminary engineering costs for improvements to Airport Road.
    This project was initiated by State Rep. Dan Brady, D-Bloomington.

  • $50,000 to Toulon Public Library District for architectural plans of a new library/community center.
    This project was initiated by State Rep. David Leitch, R-Peoria.

  • $10,000 to the Friends of Johnson Park Foundation in Kewanee for the maintenance and repair of the historic Ryan Barn in Johnson Sauk Trail State Park.
    This project was initiated by State Rep. Donald Moffitt, R-Gilson.
