SPRINGFIELD β March 29, 2010. Governor Pat Quinn today issued a statement on the beginning of Passover:
βAt sundown tonight, families across Illinois will come together to celebrate the beginning of Passover, an observance commemorating the exodus of their ancestors from bondage in Egypt. As many gather together at traditional Seders, members of the Jewish faith will reflect upon the sacrifices made by their ancestors to attain and live in freedom. I want to extend my best wishes for a happy Passover.β
