CHICAGO — Parents looking for a good way to save money for college and students entering high school or college in the coming years can visit the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) display in the Governor’s Tent at the Illinois State Fair, August 13-22.
The theme of ISAC’s display is “investing in tomorrow’s workforce by making college accessible and affordable for all Illinois students.” The state fair marks the end of summer and the beginning of a new school year, serving as a reminder that college is another year closer. From 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. daily, students and parents can meet with representatives of the Illinois Student Assistance Corps (ISACorps) and the College Illinois!® 529 Prepaid Tuition Program to discuss all aspects of saving for, going to and paying for college in addition to having access to ISAC’s KnowHow2GOIllinois.org, collegezone.com, whatsnextillinois.org and 529prepaidtuition.org Web sites.
For fun, fairgoers can play a game of corn hole (bag toss) in homage to the fair’s theme of “Cream of the Crop” and pick up a College Illinois! backpack and other items provided by KnowHow2GOIllinois.
