Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs Announces St. Clair County Office Relocation

Press Release - Wednesday, September 29, 2010

BELLEVILLE - The Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs (IDVA) today announced the relocation of one of its St. Clair County service offices.

Belleville Veterans will now be served from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday at 4519 W. Main St., Belleville, in the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) building. The IDVA Veterans Service Office was previously located at 10 S. Jackson St., Belleville.

"This move provides a significant cost savings to the state in addition to allowing our Veterans the convenience of accessing our agency and IDES in one location," said Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs Director Dan Grant. "This move is a win for Veterans and for the State of Illinois."

IDVA operates 49 full-time, and 64 part-time, Veteran Service Offices statewide that are staffed with service officers who assist veterans with accessing benefits and filing claims they are entitled to receive. In addition to the full-time service office on Main Street, IDVA also operates a part-time location in Belleville on the first Tuesday and second Friday of each month at Southwestern Illinois College, 2500 Carlyle Ave.
