Statement from Governor Pat Quinn

CHICAGO – October 29, 2010. Governor Pat Quinn today issued a statement regarding the terrorist attempt on Chicago:

“Since learning that packages containing explosives were addressed to Jewish places of worship in Chicago, I have committed the full resources of the state of Illinois - working cooperatively with federal and local officials - to ensure the continued safety and security of everyone in our state.

I have been in touch with leaders of Illinois’ Jewish community and will remain in close communication with leaders of Illinois’ faith-based communities. My thoughts are with Illinois’ Jewish community, and I urge everyone to stand together in unity during this time.”
