$1.5 Million in Illinois FIRST Projects for DuPage County

SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan announced today that he is releasing $1,575,000 in Illinois FIRST funding for projects in DuPage County, including $750,000 to the Village of Addison to improve storm water management and flood control to alleviate problems experienced at Lake Manor Park along Lake Park Drive and other low lying areas north of Fullerton Avenue.

This Illinois FIRST project was initiated by Senate President James "Pate" Philip, R-Wood Dale.

Other Illinois FIRST grants announced by Ryan:

  • $725,000 to the Village of Villa Park to expand its police facilities and to design and construct decorative lighting systems in or near the Ardmore Avenue business district.
    This project was initiated by State Rep. Bob Biggins, R-Elmhurst.

  • $100,000 to the Village of Lemont to extend a water distribution system to service an industrial area on the south side of Main Street.
    This project was initiated by State Rep. Jim Meyer, R-Bolingbrook.
