SPRINGFIELD -- Governor George H. Ryan announced today that he is releasing $1,142,400 in Illinois FIRST funding for projects in Central Illinois, including $250,000 to the Southwestern School Foundation to construct the Southwestern Athletic Facility in Piasa.
The facility will consist of an all-weather track, a grandstand and a separate building that will house a concession stand with restroom facilities. This project will serve all communities within a 175 square mile area, benefiting 20,000. The foundation is contributing $160,000.
- $175,000 to the Bunker Hill Fire Protection District
to purchase a new fire truck. The district is contributing $64,000.

- $102,400 to the Logan County Sheriff's Department
to purchase and distribute automatic external defibrillators to the following Sheriff's Departments:
