The district will halt shoreline erosion at the park's pond with new "riprap" and retaining walls, and will repair and resurface new walking and bike paths, a basketball court and four tennis courts.

Other Illinois FIRST projects announced by Ryan:

• $107,000 to the Alfred Campanelli YMCA in Schaumburg to purchase equipment and furniture for the YMCA's new day care center. Kitchen equipment and close-circuit TV security system will be bought.

• $50,000 to the Village of Mount Prospect to install video cameras in all of the village's police cars.

• $20,000 to the Elk Grove Rural Fire Department to purchase 25 sets of fireproof "turn-out" coats and pants for firefighters.

  These Illinois FIRST projects were initiated by State Rep. Terry Parke, R-Hoffman Estates.
