State Fair To Bring Back Cheer Classic

SPRINGFIELD, Ill – Grab your pom-poms and get your spirit fingers ready; The Illinois State Fair Cheer Classic is back! It has been years since a cheerleading competition has been at the State Fair but this year Capital Elite has been asked to help bring this great tradition to the fair once again! The Cheer Classic will take place on Saturday, August 17th in Happy Hollow. Rain date is August 18th, in the event of rain cancellation application fees will be refunded.

The Competition Area is a 54 X 42 Spring Floor and a warm-up area will be provided with a 54 x 42 non spring floor, a spring tumble strip, and a 12 X 42 stretch mat.

There are three divisions offered, School, All Star, and Specialty. Each division is divided into several age categories.

-The School division categories include:

 -Elementary Level
 -Jr. High Level
 -High school JV
 -High School Varsity (max. 20 members)
 -JV and Varsity combined (max. 36 members)

-The All Star Division age groups are:

-Tiny Level 1
-Mini Levels 1-3
-Youth Levels 1-5
-Junior Levels 1-5
-Senior Levels 1-5

-The Specialty Division will be divided based on USASF age divisions. It includes seven competitions:

-Individual Routine
-Duo Routine
-Trio Routine
-Quad Routine
-Stunt Routine
-Jump Challenge
-Tumbling Challenge

Each team must send a $100 non-refundable deposit by Monday, July 15th. The cost of entry is $30 per cheerleader, which includes fair admission. An additional $20 will be charged per added event, this includes all specialty division competitions. Guest must pay entry to the fair but the Cheer Classic is free to all spectators.

Banners will be given to the Grand Champions of all levels of the Team Divisions. Trophies will be given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams as well as the competitors in the Specialty Division. All team and squad participants will receive a medal.

The registration deadline is Monday, July 15th; this must include registration form and non-refundable deposit. Full payment must be received by August 1st.
