Governor Quinn Announces $300,000 for Work at Zion Park District

Press Release - Thursday, August 22, 2013

ZION – Governor Pat Quinn today announced a capital investment of $300,000 for work at the Zion Park District. The work is part of Governor Quinn’s Illinois Jobs Now! capital construction program that is creating jobs and driving Illinois’ economy forward.

“These funds will benefit those who use Zion parks,” Governor Quinn said. “The projects will also employ a number of construction workers, which will help the local economy as well.”

The Zion Park District will use the funds for various infrastructure and capital improvements, including roof and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning work at the Leisure Center.

“Residents of Zion should rest assured their needs are being represented in Springfield,” State Sen. Melinda Bush (D-Grayslake) said. “These improvements reinforce that the City of Zion has a very bright future.”

These projects are part of Governor Quinn’s $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! program, which will support more than 439,000 jobs over six years. Illinois Jobs Now! is the largest capital construction program in Illinois history, and is one of the largest capital construction programs in the nation.
