Press Release - Thursday, October 16, 2014

LASALLE - Governor Pat Quinn today announced a capital investment of more than $4.3 million for a construction project in LaSalle County. The investment, funded by the Governor's Illinois Jobs Now! construction program, is part of Governor Quinn's agenda to create jobs and drive Illinois' economy forward.

"New infrastructure projects are creating jobs for hardworking men and women throughout Illinois," Governor Quinn said. "This investment in LaSalle County will improve local and state transportation networks, and continue Illinois' road to recovery."

The project will be managed by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Illinois Route 251 will receive 3.57 miles of milling, resurfacing, shoulders, patching, ramp accessibility updates and pavement marking for $4,320,995 by Advanced Asphalt Company of Princeton, the lower of two bidders.

"I thank Governor Quinn for his investment in LaSalle County," State Representative Frank Mautino (D-Spring Valley) said. "The infrastructure improvements will help us continue to grow and strengthen and our local economy."

The project is part of Governor Quinn's $31 billion Illinois Jobs Now! program, which will support more than 439,000 jobs over six years. Illinois Jobs Now! is the largest construction program in Illinois history, and is one of the largest construction programs in the nation.
