CHICAGO - Governor Bruce Rauner announced today he has made appointments to the Illinois Finance Authority and the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board.

Name: Beth Smoots
Position: Board Member - Illinois Finance Authority

Governor Bruce Rauner announced today he has appointed Beth Smoots to the Illinois Finance Authority Board of Directors. Smoots' years of experience in management make her an ideal choice for the board.

Smoots currently works for Strategy & Search Resources assisting in the research, recruitment and consultation for executive staff selection and organizational analysis. Previously, she worked for CBIZ Valuation Group as the managing director. She led the Midwest regional office and two national specialty practices of a national corporate valuation consulting organization.

Smoots earned her bachelor's degree in finance and management from Northern Illinois University. She earned her MBA from the University of Chicago. She lives in River Forest.

Name: Dana Deen Kinion
Position: Member - Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board

Governor Bruce Rauner announced today he has appointed Dana Deen Kinion to the Illinois Property Tax Appeal Board. As a member of the Sangamon County Board of Review, along with her experience as a tax attorney and in state government, Kinion will make an excellent addition to the board.

Kinion is currently an attorney at Zack Stamp, Ltd. where she practices local, state and federal tax law. In addition, she advises companies on forming and maintaining non-qualified pension benefit plans. Previously, she worked for the Illinois Department of Revenue as a senior associate counsel where she worked on matters in sales tax and income tax. She also drafted and reviewed tax legislation.

Kinion is a graduate of Texas A&M University. She earned her law degree from the University of Tulsa and a Master of Laws in Taxation from Southern Methodist University. She lives in Springfield.
