Governor Announces Reopening of Harlem to Canal Stretch of Stevenson Expressway
Ramp from Southbound Ryan to Outbound Stevenson Open Monday
CHICAGO -- Governor George H. Ryan today announced that all lanes of the reconstructed 9-mile section of the Stevenson Expressway (I-55) from Canal Street to Harlem Avenue will reopen on Monday, October 2, almost a month before its October 31 scheduled completion.

Illinois the Most Improved "Digital State" in the Nation
CHICAGO -- Illinois moved to 4th place in 2000 from a rank of 49th in 1998 in the use of digital technology according to a major national survey released on September 25 in Baltimore. The award is the result of a yearlong study undertaken by the Progress & Freedom Foundation and the Center for Digital Government.
